Welcome back to WellSeekers as we continue with a brand new six part series focusing on meditation and mindfulness. As always and in this series, we’ll share amazing conversations full of thoughtful insights, powerful personal stories, and most importantly real world solutions; all from a holistic perspective. We’ll talk about mindfulness in your own life, in your relationships, at work life, and how you can use it to help accomplish goals towards finding the life you love. On today’s show we are so honored to be welcoming back Swami Varadan, meditation teacher and author, as he shares his own personal story of how meditation and mindfulness saved and transformed his life forever. Before wellness, Swami was far from well: lost in the day to day world of media and the world of Los Angeles culture, he eventually lost everything important to him. Through a series of powerful events and getting to a point where he was ready to end his life, this remarkable man was saved by mindfulness. Companioning, storytelling, and connecting to other peoples stories can be so impactful and powerful. And Swami’s story in one of them. So join Lucia and Swami on this episode of WellSeekers now.

Between 2008 and 2009, Swami Varadan lost his car, his job, his home, his uncle, his grandma and his best friend to cancer. Moving into his parent's 2 bedroom apartment caused him even more grief. After falling into a deep depression, Swami decided to end his life. He was 30 seconds away from walking in front of a train when he had a spiritual awakening. Now he is happier than ever and lives in Los Angeles as a meditation teacher, cook and author of “Urban Turban Cooking: 7 Mantras for Success, 7 Recipes for Healing.” The intention of this book is to feed your soul and feed your stomach.
