One thing I have found in my seeking process is that nothing beats the feeling of laughing. It reminds me not to take myself too seriously and that hope exists even in the darkest of times. Neurologically, laughter increases the endorphins in your brain chemistry, making you feel happier and more well with each giggle. I was sick last weekend and took some time for R&R that helped clear up my cold with a quickness. (That, a heavy dose of Vitamin C and some of my magic smoothie potion. Will share more on that in another post!) While I was relaxing I wanted to watch a movie to lift my mood, self esteem and do more than just make me laugh. I found one that accomplished it all, I Feel Pretty! Full disclosure, I am not a huge Amy Schumer fan. (Sorry Amy!) Yet this movie hit the spot.
